Free motion art work and fabric bowls

These are three of the quilts that Judy J brought along for Show & Tell yesterday. She uses her Sweet Sixteen machine to produce the free motion quilting art work.

Our group project sessions have proven to be successful and several members enjoyed making these fabric bowls yesterday.
They were based on ideas and instructions in Linda Johansen's book, Fast, fun & easy Fabric Bowls.

Linda W is going to lead our next group project session in April and show us how to sew and cut a chenille cushion cover top. Also starting next month, in response to popular demand, will be Angela L's Sampler Quilt Course.
It's busy times!! Tomorrow, a coach-full of members is heading off to the Brisbane Craft and Sewing Show. No doubt there'll be lots of "show & tell" at our next meeting.

Unbrellas and Wet Weather Quilts

The recent extended period of wet weather has not deterred Club members from attending meetings as evidenced by the collection of umbrellas parked outside the front door on Tuesday!

Inside, there was much "Show & Tell". The completion of some of these quilts may well have something to do with the wet weather? We are grateful to the people who kindly quilted and facilitated the completion of several club "community quilts" coordinated by Lyle.

Fay started this at our retreat last year
We thank Bonnie K Hunter who has provided inspiration for a number of projects undertaken by our Community Quilting Group and by individual members.

You may recognise the "Disappearing nine-patch" quilt that Cheryl and Joan were working on at Open Day.

Everyone loved the applique that Joan added to her "scrap quilt".

Cheryl started this doona cover at a Club workshop lead by Angela last year.

"Distraction" by Ann J
The top of Ann J"s quilt was made at an all-night marathon back in about 2000. She brought it in to show us the size of our 2013 "raffle quilt" that is now being put together by Club members under her careful guidance.
