2015 is under way!

Back on 24 November 2014 we posted a photo of June's One Block Wonder quilt. As promised, this is the fabric she used for her quilt.
On our sewing days, the walls of our meeting rooms are often used for members to display their work; it may be completed or a work-in-progress which is perhaps hung for advice or consultation. Quilters are always happy to assist each other with suggestions for progressing a project!

Here are some completed projects that we have seen in recent weeks.

Beryl's granddaughter studied archeology and Beryl made this quilt to celebrate her 21st birthday. The pattern is an adaptation of  Work Like an Egyptian by Smee Designs.

Pat made this quilt when she was in Geelong. The border fabric is delightful!
Pat L's Tangled Threads
Fay S coordinated the production of this quilt that was made by our busy and productive Community Quilting group.

  • The top of our 205 Art Union Quilt has been completed and quilting designs are being considered.
  • Plans for our 2015 Exhibition are under way.
  • The students in Angela's sampler quilt class will start on their projects next week.
  • Ineke is encouraging members to start work on their 2015 Challenge quilts.
  • A bus trip to the 2015 Queensland Quilters Picnic in May is under discussion.

Stay tuned!

Groups Within Our Group

2015- Normal activities have resumed at Toowoomba Quilters Club.
Toowoomba Quilters Club Inc is a diverse group of people, and as such, different people become interested in different areas of quilting and patchwork.
To accommodate this, it is sometimes necessary to form splinter groups within our main group.

We have a very active Community Quilting group headed up by the seemingly never tiring, Lyle.
This group meets on the 3rd Saturday of each month and the following Tuesday, 9.30 am – 4.00 pm   The quilts and other items completed by this group go far and wide, and have brought comfort over the years to many people  who are doing it hard in our community.

In the last couple of years, the interest in surface design, dyeing, fabric manipulation, etc. has sparked some of our members to form an Art Quilt Group.  This group has built up and is building up as more and more people want to push the boundaries of quilting and patchwork.

The Art Quilt Group meets every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month.
If you would like to be a part of any of our groups, it is first necessary to join Toowoomba Quilters Club.
