Our textile art group ( TQ TAG) had a very fun day on Saturday 20 February. Dianne led the group in the absence of our leader, Julie.
We used coloured crepe and tissue paper to 'dye' some fabric. This makes a wonderful background to perhaps add further elements to and build up an interesting textile art piece.
Gail J, Nora and Leslie enjoying the play.
Kathy has made a colourful sripey piece.
Many different types of fabric will take up the colour. Nora is using the moistened clump of coloured tissue like a stamp onto damp fabric.
Gail cut shapes out to do a more ordered type of patterning on her piece
Heather proudly shows her landscape piece.
This piece done by Dianne gives a watercolour effect.
If you would like to join in and learn some interesting ways to alter fabric and learn some techniques, we meet on the third Saturday each month at the Toowoomba Quilters meeting rooms at Jellicoe Street. We meet at 10.00am. and are members of the Toowoomba Quilters Club.

Lovely colours. An interesting way to add colour to fabric.
